Vishay Laser Lighting Solutions include a wide portfolio of resistors, rectifiers, TVS diodes, thermistors, inductors, and more. Laser lighting is used as an additional high beam in combination with LED front lighting. The beam of a blue laser diode is converted by the phosphor to white light, and Vishay power components ensure the current source is constant to stay within the tight tolerances for the laser diode. Complex optical sensing is used because it is important that the blue laser beam does not shine out of the lighting unit. This safety concept is set up with a Vishay automotive-qualified RGBW sensor and enhanced blue photodiode.
