The Nordic Semiconductor nRF9161 SiP, now available at Mouser, offers enhanced capabilities compared to previous models, including support for both DECT NR+ non-cellular 5G technology and the 3GPP Release 14 LTE-M/NB-IoT LTE stack. The nRF9161 SiP features a programmable Arm® Cortex®-M33 system-on-chip (SoC), RF front-end, and a power management system (PMIC). Certified for global operation, the integrated modem of the nRF9161 SiP allows for reliable connectivity without regional limitations. Power Saving (PSM) for roaming devices further extends battery life for global cellular IoT deployments. The device's compact 10 mm x 16 mm footprint makes it a versatile option for a wide range of compact, low-power applications.
The nRF9161 SiP is supported by the Nordic Semiconductor NRF9161-DK nRF9161 development kit, also available from Mouser. Featuring dedicated antennas for LTE-M, NB-IoT, DECT NR+, and an integrated GNSS patch antenna, the NRF9161-DK development kit allows designers to evaluate and develop a range of Industry 4.0 applications.
